John Rocha was born in Hongkong. In the 1970′s he moved to London as a fashion student. He was truly inspired by Irish linen and moved to Ireland in the 1980′s and has been there since with his wife and business partner. All this time he has been working on his collections, experimenting with various techniques, materials and designs. His unique ways of handcrafting knitwear and hand painting silks give his collections a special appeal. The biggest highpoint of his career would probably be in 1994 when he won the award of British designer of the year and has not looked back since then. This range has enjoyed consistent success since then. In 1999, John Rocha launched his very first interior design project in Dublin, The Morrison Hotel. Presently, it is rated among the best hotels through out Europe. This inspired him to launch various other interior design projects. He started an apartmental and penthouse development project in Liverpool City centre named, L3. Currently, he is working on two more projects. One is an Urban residential project in Birmingham City Centre and Luxury apartments in Budhapest.

John was launched in 2000. It involved five exclusive Debenhams ranges for Womenswear, Menswear, Childernswear, Home and Accessories. He received the CBE (commander of the British Empire) award in light of his contributions to the British fashion Industry. In 2002, John Rocha Jewellery was launched in Dublin.
